Our understanding of what people want, when it comes to boating, guides us through our whole process from strategic planning to the day to day operations of our business. When people living in or coming to visit Miami choose to enjoy our beautiful bay or grand ocean, they want a joyful experience. Our mission is to create that joyful experience being on the water.

Cruising

If you enjoy snorkeling, diving, and just hanging out on the water, we can help you choose the best option to give you the experience that you want. We will work with you on your budget and recommend the type of cruising boat for your purchase or charter. We will work with you to understand your individual needs and get the best deal for you not just what we are selling!

Sailing

When it’s the journey and not necessarily the destination, let us put you in the right sailboat for you. The quiet when the engine gets turned off releases an inter-peace as you inhale that first big lung full of diesel free sea air!  We very experienced in finding the right coastal cruiser for your weekend get-a-ways or that bullet-proof, live-a-board that you have as your retirement goal.

Fishing

The thrill of the chase and the adrenaline rush of off-shore fishing really stand out for a time to remember. Whether it be seeing the deep blue of the Gulf Stream or Casting for the snook or snaper that hide near the mangroves, we can help you with the boat to do it.

Who We Are

Broker-

Captain David W. Schechter, the Managing Member of and Employing Broker for 1st Yacht LLC, is a licensed and bonded Ship and Yacht broker in the State of Florida. Dave most recently managed the Miami Sales Office and the Southeast Territory for a large new boat dealer and brokerage house.

Dave has a US Coast Guard OUPV (Operator of Uninspected Passenger Vessel) license and lives aboard Serene, a 42’ Bertram Motor Yacht.

He has 10 years’ experience in the marine industry and prior to that many years in the airline industry in various sales, managerial, and financial roles.

Dave holds an MBA from the University of Houston and a BBA in Accounting from Emory University.

Every boat transaction has his full attention and focus.
